1-2-1 Business Coaching

Personalised Development

1-2-1 Business Coaching and Mentoring

As you are aware, each member of your organisation, department and team is different; they have different learning preferences, different goals and interdependent roles within your organisation. The most effective way to ensure every single person achieves your organisational goals - and their own personal ones - is to develop them on an individual basis through 1-2-1 coaching!

You can take advantage of our coaching expertise to secure personal and professional development, growth and positive change, which can all have a dramatic impact on overall outcomes and performance.

By using this facility your team members can get very specific about the key areas they need to focus on and improve, discuss and focus their training on a one-to-one basis either face-to-face, over the phone or via e-mail. As an example, you can cover a topic in-depth in the style most appropriate for the individual in 1 hour (an exercise that could take 2 days on a group course), helping to speed up the learning process and allow for difficult areas to receive a more appropriate focus.

The coach becomes the individual's mentor and will work confidentially in partnership to help them get the most out of their relationship; to help them realise their drive, potential and ambition within your company. This 1-2-1 coaching facility complements perfectly any existing internal support from a manager or colleague.

Throughout the course of the 1-2-1 coaching sessions, periodic reviews will take place to ensure everything is on target, and that goals remain realistic and achievable.

Benefits of 1-2-1 Business Coaching

Successful 1-2-1 Coaching

A variety of workers

Our experience in providing business coaching in the UK and worldwide has encompassed a wide range of companies and individuals. We have dealt with all levels of staff from managing director down and shop floor level up, and the testimonials we receive, verbal and written, all state what a positive change and impact we have made. Targets agreed at the outset of the 1-2-1 coaching can be measurements of success.

Some individuals see coaching as remedial, however, as we know, some of the top professionals in a variety of fields utilise 1-2-1 coaching to help them move forward with purpose and clarity.

As anyone with their own business coaching business will know, The key to successful executive coaching is that it is specific, individual, ongoing and challenging. We make sure that the coach and coachee are suited and take a rounded approach with a main focus on tangible business results. We look at issues such as health & fitness, personal development as well as the practical day-to-day work issues; the reason being that we know each element impacts on everything else and if we get the person to function well on all levels, it will have a positive effect on work, stress, ability etc. It is the skill of the coach to recognise, identify and facilitate the individual's exact requirements on 1-2-1 coaching.

The overall aim of 1-2-1 business coaching is to assist you to achieve definite personal goals, develop your communication skills and boost your corporate performance. It might be that you are facing a great deal of change at work or trying to solve a problem, trying to motivate others or generally enhance your career. If you are, then 1-2-1 coaching has something to offer you.

The Best Business Coaching Sessions Are One-to-One

One-to-One Business Coaching

Whether it be a spontaneous lunch session or a structured and planned meeting, the best business coaching sessions are one-to-one meetings, as this allows for the interactive two-way discussions which are so critical to the business coaching process.

It is important not to confuse this with team building and team development programmes which are essential for developing team working and communication skills amongst a group of workers; but when it comes to business coaching and its primary objective of seeking to identify issues and introduce steps to overcome them, this is best done on an individual basis as each employee will have a different set of issues and circumstances which motivate and de-motivate them.

Managers Need to Find the Time for Business Coaching

It can be hard for busy mangers who have very little spare time during the day to have individual one-to-one-coaching sessions and meetings with their employees, but it is important for them to try and find the time to fit them in. It is likely that much of the manager's time is taken up by dealing with small issues and problems which frequently recur. It may be the case that taking a bit of time now to teach somebody how to do it and empower them with the authority to do it will save time in the long run.

Even if the one-to-one meeting is not a spur-of-the-moment call to action as they pass an employee in the corridor for example, managers with little time may set out with the good intention of arranging a dedicated meeting with the individual but if they are constantly interrupted with problems then the communication and two-way flow of ideas which is so critical for business coaching to be effective will be lost.

About our 1-2-1 Business Coaching and Executive Coaching Programmes

Two businessmen engaged in executive coaching

Executive coaching programmes are now accepted as a management discipline in the UK. In a business context, business coaching is about releasing untapped knowledge and abilities over a time period, how to avoid pitfalls and corporate minefields, thereby increasing the speed of progress of your career.

The aim of 1-2-1 coaching is to work with the individual to overcome perceived or actual barriers to success, unlock one's full potential and generate an improved output.

Working with a trained coach can be a catalyst for even the most successful and innovative, entrepreneurial people to find different perspectives, inspire new ideas and generate pragmatic, realistic solutions to issues.

The one question that we are asked the most when it comes to coaching is:

"Is coaching for those with issues, poor performers or successful individuals?"

The answer for all those that are familiar with coaching is that it can easily slot into any of the above areas and situations. The starting point for successful outcomes is the fact that your coach from the BCF Group is external, so automatically receives an air of autonomy, know-how and experience. Also, your coach has no 'axe to grind' and therefore will take a balanced view of any situation and be able to challenge individuals in certain areas of conversation in a very positive manner. Add to this that your coach has no preconceived ideas about any staff members or situations and an objective, positive outcome is guaranteed.

Your BCF Group coach is fully accredited with the ILM and is used to working with senior executives across a variety of industries. Their experience along with our coaching structure and models means that all business issues and related challenges can be addressed in a positive manner with clearly defined outcomes, results and timeframes being agreed. Because this is 1-2-1 coaching you know that the success will be due to the fact that this partnership will be individual, specific and ongoing.
