We negotiate every day. We negotiate in our day-to-day lives and, more importantly in the workplace.
But how many of us are confident we negotiate well? We can probably all think of situations where we have wished we would have put our argument, thoughts or opinions across better.
This two-day in-house course is perfect for managers, supervisors and salespeople.
You'll learn and practice negotiation, assertiveness and influencing techniques and by the end of the course you will be able to:
- Understand the importance of preparation and how to set about it
- Use a proven model to move through the stages of negotiation to work towards a win-win situation every time
- Understand the different styles of negotiating
- Establish both your and the other party's bargaining positions
- Effectively close and confirm the negotiation
- Negotiate confidently and successfully having practised their negotiation techniques during the course
Course syllabus
MODULE 1
An Introduction to Negotiation
Assess your negotiation skills and identify your objectives.
MODULE 2
The Preparation Stage
How to prepare properly, including for setbacks and rejections.
MODULE 3
The Discussion Stage
How to make the right impression on the other side and influence thinking at the earliest opportunity.
MODULE 4
The Proposing Stage
Stating your position and responding to offers.
MODULE 5
The Bargaining and Closing Stage
Convincing the other side as you get closer to your objectives and closing the agreement.
